1971 – Braves’ outfielder Henry “Hank” Aaron joins Babe Ruth and Willie Mays as the only players to have reached 600 home runs.
1985 – Billy Martin is named the manager of the New York Yankees for the fourth time. He would lead the team within 2 games of the AL East title.
1998 – Juan Gonzalez sets a major league record for RBI’s in the month of April with 35.
