Gambling and Baseball

by admin on February 17, 2010

As if no one has ever done it? Well, hopefully not players. The Pete Rose’s of the world really do suck. While I’m pro-betting for the regular Joe, I’m anti sports-as-game-of-chance for any players, officials, rules makers, anyone whom is any way involved in a game. For everyone else, gambling is a way of life — it’s everywhere. The stock market, making babies (50/50 after all), and even Online Craps. With odds practically ingrained in our every day life, we are practically encouraged to make a few smart bets on the great game of baseball?

With trips to both cool Atlantic City and a very hot Las Vegas already in the books for the year, I’m planning on doing my fair share of betting. Playing blackjack, sure. Tossing some craps (offline this time), you bet. What about curiously playing Baccarat? Only if there is a smoking hot, very young Asian woman dealing. Baseball, however, will also get a few bets. Here is are my too, very well educated picks. I’m not sure if both bets are possible — but I am going to try and get both of them placed when I head out on vacation.

For a long-shot, pre-season World Series winner I’m going long the New York Yankees and short the Boston Red Sox. I’m not sure if I can actually bet against the Red Sox (or maybe even the Mets for that matter), but if I can — I will.

So how to spend my time before these well deserved trips to the coast and the desert (respectively). Exercise? Maybe. copious amounts of video games? More than likely. The true reality; I’ll be playing games of chance, of course. Craps, already mentioned is high on my list, Online Slots are also a great way to spend some excess time and win some very green money.
