Voices Of The Game

Happy Monday. Figured I’d add a few great baseball quotes I’ve come across recently.

Harley Duncan of the Missouri Driver’s License Bureau on why they waived the eye test for George Brett:

“If he can hit .350, we figured he could see.”

Ray Miller on watching Wade Boggs hit with two strikes:

“He’d get two strikes and he’d start fouling off pitch after pitch. He looked like a guy sorting through the mail looking for a check.”

Mickey Mantle on ferocious Dodger great, Don Drysdale:

“I hated to bat against Drysdale. After he’d hit you he’d come around, look at the bruise on your arm and say, ‘Do you want me to sign it?’”
